Never Rode a Horse Before?

 We’ve got you covered! Let us know that you’re a first-time rider and we will give you tips and pointers - all the way from climbing on top of the horse until the time you dismount. Come ready to follow directions and have fun!

Who Can Ride?

To keep our horses and riders safe, adults 250 pounds and less are able to join us for trail rides.  We don't want to offend anyone, but we may ask you to step on the scale so we can be sure.

Anyone under age 18 who wishes to join a trail ride must have their parent or guardian sign a waiver of liability form.

All riders must be able to mount the horse without assistance (we will hold the horse steady, but you must be able to climb up on your own).

What Should I Bring?

 We bring the horse, reins, and saddle. You bring yourself, a hat, sunblock, and a water bottle (and you may want to bring a small backpack or crossbody bag to secure your things).  We recommend you wear jeans and boots or sneakers (no open toed shoes).

Please use the restroom before you arrive - we don’t have an on-site restroom (but we do have bushes…).

What if I Need to Cancel?

We know life happens, but you must notify us of any cancellations at least 24 hours before your ride is scheduled to begin, or you will forfeit your payment.  It is a lot of work to prep for a ride, so it’s necessary for us to know well in advance if you can’t make it. 

Running late? Just know that your ride will end at the same time, regardless of when it starts - and if there are other parties on the same ride that arrived on time, we might not wait for you.  Plan to arrive 20 minutes before your ride is schedule to begin.  Plus, if you come a little early, (time permitting), you may have a few extra minutes to get used to your horse before we start the ride.

Weather cancellations will be handled on a case-by-case basis - we may still ride in a drizzle, but definitely won't go out for a ride in lightning or severe weather.  If we cancel a ride due to weather, we'll contact you at the information you put in at checkout and coordinate a reschedule or refund.
